OutletIQ/Field sales software
Category
Field sales software gives reps a mobile app for the call and managers a console for the coverage. This page defines the category in plain terms, sets out the questions worth asking, and shows how OutletIQ answers them.
Currently in production with a spirits distributor.
Field sales software is a mobile app for representatives who sell and service customers in person, paired with a web console for their managers. It plans the day’s route, records each visit, captures orders, and reports coverage, activity and compliance back to the business.
A field sales app differs from a field sales CRM. The CRM is organised around accounts, contacts and pipeline. Field sales software is organised around the visit: where the rep went, how long they stayed, what they recorded and what they sold. Distributors usually need the visit layer first, because that is where the money and the doubt both sit.
Short answers
Answered directly, in the order they come up.
It must. Offline-first means a local database plus an outbox that syncs when connectivity returns. Offline-tolerant, meaning a cached read-only view, is not the same thing.
Only if more than one signal is checked. Location alone is spoofable. Location plus dwell time plus mock-GPS detection plus fix density is much harder to fake.
The server, not the handset. If totals are computed on the device, a determined rep can change them. Recomputing server-side from the price book removes the question.
Ideally their own. Bring-your-own-device on everyday Android removes the hardware line from the business case entirely.
It should go somewhere. A review queue with the reason and the photo evidence beats a compliance percentage nobody can act on.
In this category, almost always a quote. OutletIQ is priced per operation against team size and rollout scope, and the quote covers contract terms, support, hosting and data export.
How OutletIQ answers them
A live coverage map by territory, a review queue that shows exactly why each visit was flagged, every order with its server-side total and CSV export, purchase orders with PDF generation, and a weekly summary that copies straight into WhatsApp.
Today’s route, a store card with visit status and account notes, a cart with a live subtotal confirmed server-side on submit, and audits where last visit’s answers carry forward. All of it works with no connection.
Free stock and promotional compliance recorded against the outlet and the visit. Multi-stage approvals for expenses, leave and stock requests. Purchase orders through to a signed PDF.

Questions
Field sales software is a mobile app for representatives who sell and service customers in person, paired with a web console for their managers. It plans the day, records each customer visit, captures orders and reports back on coverage, activity and compliance.
A field sales CRM is organised around accounts, contacts and pipeline stages. Field sales software is organised around the visit: where the rep went, how long they were there, what they recorded and what they sold. Many teams run both, with the field app feeding activity into the CRM.
Everything the rep needs during a call. In OutletIQ the app runs on a local database and queues every action in an outbox that syncs when signal returns, so routes, audits and orders all work at zero bars and nothing is lost.
By checking more than one signal. OutletIQ cross-checks GPS geofencing at the outlet, a 30-minute dwell check, mock-GPS detection and location-fix density. Anything suspicious is flagged with its reason and routed to a manager review queue with photo evidence.
No. OutletIQ is bring-your-own-device on everyday Android and is deliberately light on data and storage, so there is no hardware rollout before a pilot can start.
It can stop the handset deciding the price. In OutletIQ, order totals are recomputed server-side from the price book on submission, and submissions are idempotent so a weak connection cannot create duplicates.
Most vendors quote rather than publish. Repsly and Skynamo both list plan names without figures on their pricing pages, checked in September 2026. OutletIQ is quoted per operation, against team size and rollout scope.
One that carries the order as well as the visit. A distributor owns the stock, so the audit, the order, the free stock, the promotional compliance and the approval chain all belong on the same record. That is what OutletIQ is built to do, and it is currently in production with a spirits distributor.
