OutletIQ vs Bizom for distributors in Nigeria

Bizom is one of the names Nigerian FMCG buyers search for first. It is a large retail intelligence platform built for brands managing distributors. OutletIQ is field sales execution built for the distributor’s own route. Sourced from Bizom’s own pages, September 2026, with BeatRoute and FieldAssist covered below.

Bizom is a retail intelligence platform for consumer goods route to market. Its homepage headline reads “Shaping the Future of RTM with Real Intelligence”, and it lists three core products: sales force automation, a distributor management system and a retailer app, with trade promotion management, a WhatsApp ordering bot and AI agents on top. Bizom says it serves 750+ CPG brands across 35+ countries and names Coca-Cola, P&G, Mondelēz, Heineken and AB InBev among its customers.

OutletIQ is field sales execution software for distributors in Nigeria, the UK and Ireland. Reps run their route on an offline first Android app, prove the visit with four location checks, run the audit, take a van sales or pre sales order at a price the handset cannot change, and move on. Managers get a review queue of flagged visits with photo evidence and approvals through to a purchase order PDF.

The short version: Bizom is built for the manufacturer looking down at its distributor network. OutletIQ is built for the distributor looking out at its outlets.

Where Bizom is stronger

If you are the brand, Bizom is built for you.

Bizom publishes a much bigger platform than OutletIQ, and in several areas it covers ground OutletIQ does not touch at all.

  • A real distributor management system. Primary sales, distributor inventory and billing are core to Bizom. OutletIQ is not a DMS.
  • A retailer app and WhatsApp ordering. Bizom lets retailers order directly. OutletIQ relies on the rep.
  • Trade promotion management. Bizom lists it as a product. OutletIQ records promotional lines and free stock on the visit but does not plan schemes.
  • AI tooling. Beat optimisation, smart merchandising and outlet deduplication are marketed features. OutletIQ does not offer them.
  • Enterprise references. Bizom names global consumer goods brands and 35+ countries. OutletIQ is a smaller, more focused product.

If you are a manufacturer that needs visibility across dozens of distributors, Bizom is the more natural shortlist entry.

Where OutletIQ adds

If you are the distributor, the route is your problem.

A Nigerian distributor lives with a different set of risks from the brand it carries. Reps on their own phones, on routes a manager cannot ride along, with signal that comes and goes. Van stock that has to reconcile with cash. Free stock that has to reach the outlet it was meant for.

OutletIQ was built for exactly that operation, so it goes deep on the few things that decide whether a distributor can trust its own field data.

  • Visits you can defend. Four location checks on every visit, with a reason attached to every flag.
  • A review queue with evidence. The manager sees the flagged visit and the audit photo together, and approves or rejects it.
  • Van sales and pre sales in one record. Totals come from the server price book, so no rep can discount on the handset.
  • No signal, no problem. Offline first, with an outbox that syncs later and idempotent submission so nothing is duplicated.
  • Bring your own device. Everyday Android, light on data, which matters when reps pay for their own bundles.
  • Approvals through to PDF. Expenses, leave, stock requests and Local Purchase Orders run multi stage chains.

How to choose

Ask who is paying and whose problem it is. If the manufacturer is rolling out a system across its distributors, Bizom or one of its peers is likely the platform in the brief. If you are the distributor and you need to know that your own reps visited the outlets they claim, at the prices on your list, bring those cases to an OutletIQ demo.

Other names Nigerian buyers search

BeatRoute and FieldAssist.

Bizom is rarely the only name on a Nigerian shortlist. Two other India built platforms market heavily into Africa. Both descriptions below come from the vendors’ own sites.

BeatRoute

BeatRoute’s Africa page is headlined “Africa’s favorite SFA-DMS platform”. Its main site describes “The only SFA-DMS built to execute your sales goals” and lists three modules: sales force automation, a distributor management system, and a retailer and influencer app, with van sales automation as a use case. It claims 20+ countries and does not name African countries on the page we checked. Offline working is not described on its Africa page. Pricing is not published.

Compared with OutletIQ, BeatRoute is again a brand side SFA and DMS platform. It covers more of the distributor network. OutletIQ goes deeper on visit verification and order price control for a single distributor’s field team.

FieldAssist

FieldAssist’s homepage reads “Powering Your RTM Growth with AI-Led Sales and Distribution”. It lists sales force automation and a distribution management system, with van sales, retail merchandising, loyalty management and expense tracking alongside. It says it operates in 32+ countries and references an Africa hub. Offline working is not highlighted on its homepage, and pricing is not published there.

FieldAssist covers loyalty and merchandising, which OutletIQ does not. OutletIQ covers multi stage approvals through to purchase order PDFs, which FieldAssist does not describe on its homepage.
