OutletIQ/OutletIQ vs Pepperi

Comparison

OutletIQ vs Pepperi for distributors

Pepperi is a broad B2B commerce platform with ordering portals, route accounting and retail execution. OutletIQ is field sales execution built for the drinks and FMCG distributor. Here is what Pepperi publishes about itself, sourced from Pepperi’s own pages, September 2026, and where the fit differs.

Pepperi is a unified B2B commerce platform for brands and distributors. Its homepage describes a “Unified B2B Commerce Solution for B2B Sales” that promises to “Increase Sales, Improve Margins, Accelerate Order-To-Cash”, and it lists eight solution areas: B2B eCommerce, mobile order taking, route accounting and direct store delivery, retail execution, mobile CRM, inside sales and support, trade promotions and operational analytics. Pepperi states it is now part of Advantive.

OutletIQ is field sales execution software for drinks and FMCG distributors. It covers one operation end to end: reps visit outlets, prove they were there with four location checks, run the audit, take the order at a price the handset cannot change, and send anything suspicious to a manager review queue with photo evidence.

If you want one platform for every channel a wholesaler sells through, including a self service buyer portal, Pepperi is built for that breadth. If your problem is trusting what happens on the rep’s route, OutletIQ is built for that depth.

Where Pepperi is stronger

Breadth across channels is Pepperi’s real advantage.

Be clear about what you are buying. Pepperi publishes a much wider product than OutletIQ, and for some distributors that breadth is the whole point.

  • A buyer portal. Pepperi sells a self service B2B eCommerce storefront where trade customers can reorder without a rep. OutletIQ has nothing equivalent.
  • Route accounting and direct store delivery. Pepperi lists these as a solution area. If your drivers invoice and collect at the drop, check Pepperi’s depth here.
  • Trade promotions management. Pepperi has a dedicated trade promotions module. OutletIQ records promotional lines and free stock against the visit, but it is not a trade promotion planning tool.
  • iOS as well as Android. If your reps carry iPhones, Pepperi supports them. OutletIQ does not.
  • Planogram tooling. Pepperi describes barcode based planogram positioning on shelves and stands. OutletIQ captures audit photos but does not manage planograms.
  • Scale and references. Pepperi publishes large named customers and a presence in 65+ countries. OutletIQ is a smaller, more focused product.

Pepperi is also built to sell across industries. Its site names eyewear, jewelry, health and beauty and home and gift alongside food, beverage and FMCG. A distributor that carries several of those categories through one sales team may value a single platform that already understands each of them. OutletIQ is shaped around drinks and FMCG outlets only, and it does not pretend otherwise.

If three or more of those are on your requirements list, shortlist Pepperi. The honest answer is that OutletIQ is not trying to be that platform.

Where OutletIQ adds

The distributor’s problem is trust on the route.

A commerce platform answers the question “how do my customers and reps place orders”. A distributor running its own field team has a harder question sitting underneath it: can I trust that the visit behind this order happened, at the price on my list, and who signed off on the stock that went out.

That is the question OutletIQ was built to answer, and it is why the product is narrow.

What that looks like in OutletIQ

  • Visits you can defend. Geofence, dwell time, mock GPS detection and location fix density are checked on every visit, not sampled.
  • A review queue, not a report. Flagged visits arrive with the reason and the photo evidence, ready to approve or reject.
  • Prices the handset cannot change. Totals come from the server price book. A weak connection cannot create a duplicate order.
  • Free stock and promotion compliance. Promotional lines and free stock are recorded against the outlet and the visit.
  • Approvals through to PDF. Expenses, leave, stock requests and Local Purchase Orders run configurable multi stage chains.
  • Phones reps already own. Bring your own device on everyday Android, light on data and storage.

How to choose between them

Write down the three things that went wrong in your field operation last quarter. If they were about customers struggling to reorder, or promotions planned badly, Pepperi’s breadth speaks to that. If they were about reps claiming visits they did not make, orders at the wrong price, or free stock that nobody can account for, bring those exact cases to an OutletIQ demo and ask us to show you where each one would have been caught.

Whichever you trial, ask both vendors the same questions: how is a visit verified, who can change a price, what happens to an order taken with no signal, and what does the full price look like for your team size.

Questions

OutletIQ and Pepperi, asked and answered.

What is the difference between OutletIQ and Pepperi?

Pepperi is a unified B2B commerce platform. Its own site lists B2B eCommerce buying portals, mobile order taking, route accounting and direct store delivery, retail execution, mobile CRM, inside sales, trade promotions and operational analytics. OutletIQ is narrower on purpose: field sales execution for drinks and FMCG distributors, built around verified outlet visits, store audits, order capture with server-side totals and a manager review queue.

Does Pepperi publish its pricing?

Not as figures on the pages we checked. As of 14 September 2026 Pepperi has a pricing FAQ that says plans are available annually or month to month and that it does not charge fees per order, but no plan prices were shown and the pepperi.com/pricing address returned a not found error. OutletIQ is quote only, priced per operation against team size and rollout scope.

Is OutletIQ a Pepperi alternative?

For some buyers. If you are a distributor whose main problem is proving reps visited outlets and controlling the orders they take, OutletIQ covers that job in depth. If you need a customer facing B2B ordering portal, route accounting and trade promotion management in one platform, Pepperi publishes all of those and OutletIQ does not offer them.

Do both work offline?

Yes. Pepperi’s retail execution page states full offline functionality with auto sync. OutletIQ is offline first: the rep app runs on a local database and queues every action in an outbox that syncs when signal returns.

Which devices do they run on?

Pepperi states native mobile apps for iOS and Android. OutletIQ is Android only and designed for bring your own device on everyday handsets.

Does Pepperi integrate with ERP systems?

Pepperi says it integrates with cloud or on premise ERP and back office systems, through iPaaS, a RESTful API and a client side JavaScript API. Its integrations page does not name specific ERP vendors. OutletIQ exports every order as CSV and handles integration per deployment.

How does OutletIQ prove a visit really happened?

Four signals are cross checked on every visit: GPS geofencing at the outlet, a 30 minute dwell check, mock GPS detection and location fix density. Anything suspicious is flagged with its reason and sent to the manager review queue with the photo evidence attached.

Can reps change prices in the field?

Not in OutletIQ. The device never sets a price. Order totals are recomputed server side from the price book and submissions are idempotent, so a weak connection cannot create duplicate orders.
